SoBRO: South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation

SoBRO celebrated its 37th Anniversary Gala on Dec. 3rd, 2009 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. This year's theme, "Standing at the Crossroads of Challenge and Opportunity" was a celebration of the success that comes from hard work and perseverance--a reflection of both the hard work that SoBRO staff puts into pursuing our mission and the success of our program participants once they embark on their own.

This year's honorees included: Walt Frazier (Trailblazer Award), Amnon Shalhov (Housing Builder/Developer of the Year Award), Barbara Martinsons (Community Leadership Award), Ruperto Morocho (Small Business Leadership Award), and Jacqueline Rosa (Corporate Leadership Award).
