• How Do I Get Certified?
• What Does It Mean If My Business Is
Located In a HubZone?
•Why apply for HubZone and 8(a)?

These government programs are intended to help
socially and economically disadvantaged small
businesses become more successful for the future.
Companies who are up and running, just starting
or in a growth stage, can benefit from the widerange
of services offered—support for government
contractors, access to capital, management and
technical assistance, and export assistance—just to
name a few.

The HUB Zone stimulates economic development
and creates jobs in urban and rural communities,
such as the Bronx, by providing Federal contracting
preferences to small businesses. These preferences
go to small businesses that obtain HUB Zone
(Historically Underutilized Business Zone)
Certification in part by employing staff who live in a
HUB Zone. To determine if you are located in a HUB
Zone visit: https://www.sba.gov/hubzone
